Signs Of The End Times?

There are 6 signs in the book of Matthew given by Jesus to signal the end of times.

1.) False Prophets

Matthew 24:5 "For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and will mislead many."

Matthew 24:11 "And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many."


James Warren aka Jim Jones Founder of the People's Temple where more than 900 members commit mass suicide in Guyana. David Koresh leader of a religious sect in Waco Texas believed he was the last prophet and 54 adults and 21 children died. Moses David predicted a comet would destroy Earth in the 1970's. Then again predicted in 1986 the Battle of Armageddon where Russia would defeat Israel. Now people are predicting Obama as the Anti-Christ.

2.) Wars

Matthew 24:6 "And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end."

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

Rumors of wars in all areas of the world now occur frequently. More people have been killed in warfare in this century than at any other time in history. As the death toll rises in the Middle East, more and more countries work feverishly to develop devastating weapons of mass destruction. Add to that the expanding threat of terrorism and unpredictable dictators such as Saddam Hussein, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong-il, Hugo Chavez and Castro and the potential for the outbreak of war exists in nations, kingdoms and places across the globe.

3.) Famines

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

There have been food scares in Zimbabwe, Africa, Ethiopia, Sudan, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Bangladesh. A large portion of the worlds people suffers from a shortage of food. On October 14, 2009 the FAO estimates over 1 billion people or 15% of the worlds population is underfed.

4.) Earthquakes

Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

Just this year there have been major earthquakes in Haiti, Chile, Japan, Philippines, Fiji, Indonesia and yesterday California.

5.) Tribulations

Matthew 24:8-9 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of my name."

Christians everywhere are under attack. First in was taking In God We Trust out of government building. Then it was the Pledge of Allegiance and prayer in schools. Next was saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. Now it's the fight against same sex marriage.

6.) Gospel Preached Throughout The World

Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come."

With television, radio, internet, missionaries and the Bible being translated in many different languages people all over the world now hear the message of Christ.

Many Christians ignore any and all scripture that might warn us. Others fear being labeled a conspiracy theorist. It's time to rock the boat and talk about uncomfortable topics. Since God included it in the Bible, don't you think it's something we should know?
